I saw him a couple years ago, after having been a big fan for a while, and he had some pretty damn terrible takes on trans people in his act. It was clearly not an anomaly; dude just seems clueless. Which is dangerous for someone with a platform.

Absolutely right. Damn absolutely right. Polar is the only brand of seltzer consistently worth the price, and Lime is easily their best flavor (sorry, Red Ruby Grapefruit lovers). If Polar Lime is available, no other Lime need apply.

That would have been an incredible way to end the show. I still think it ended well enough (minus the cliffhanger aspect) but that would have been on another level. Ideally, IMO, they would have managed to cut the cast back down only to Tandy before calling it quits, but I never expected that to happen.

Terrific article, Erik. Only episode off the top of my head that’s missing is “Stowaway” (3, 12), which features the classic “gambling money” bit. But that’s a quibble with a show so strong as Home Movies was, start to finish.

The return of Tranh, the very surprise return of the all-time great Fawn Moscato (I literally jumped out of my seat), and that damn prank. So well done. Such a payoff for those who’ve watched all along.

Sweet Christ that’s bad.

100% J.G. Wentworth

Metro: Exodus for me. I don’t play a ton of games, but that series is cool and the trailer/features seems very interesting to me.

There was a sizable contingent prepared to worship at the altar of Dan Harmon. Given the success of Rick and Morty, I imagine there still is. It would be interesting to know how the information in this article affects those people. I have a guess, but who knows?

Streak broken. First year since 2013 that I’ve seen a movie on this list. It was The House this year, and A Good Day To Die Hard in 2013.

My reaction: If it took the word “whore” to make someone see Robert was pretty dickish, they weren’t paying much attention to begin with.

Meh. I liked it. It kept a hefty dose of the humor and science that made The Martian entertaining, but wrapped it into a crime novel. Maybe the characterization is a bit lacking here and there, but given that’s not really the point it was easy enough to overlook. And I give Weir credit for giving a character like Jazz

How rude!

Mark-Linn Baker jumping out from behind the couch and scaring the demogorgon was pretty funny. But not nearly funny enough to justify the sketch.

Sometimes a piece just reads like an O’Neal. This is one of those pieces.

LaRoche!!!

Y’all can debate how Moynihan turns into Larroquette all day, but my biggest quibble is his 33 year-old daughter being the GM of a professional basketball team.

I still love Bitter Sweet Symphony, and I always feel shitty that the money is going to Jagger and co. when I hear it. It's a great song…take your songwriting credit and give the money back, Mick. As if you haven't done the same sort of shit (and so has almost everyone else in the music industry).

Strikes a perfect lyrical balance between defiance and haunting.

Love it. Can't complain.
