Old BMWs are pretty simple to keep running, and there is extensive aftermarket support.  You’d likely never encounter anything catastrophic that would be unique to BMW.  Any $1800 high mileage car is a potential break down away from scrap.

This is a great piece.  It has been a joyous revelation as I age to realize that who I consider attractive also ages.  We are so often confronted with the idea that youth is the only form of beauty, when indeed my experience has been the opposite.
