I’ll admit that the overall execution is a bit needlessly over explained and could have been streamlined into to 3, maybe even 2 panels, but I like the underlying joke of “Pokemon Go, but more dangerous and adorable”.

Its not actually that complicated if you have even cursory knowledge of what Pokemon go, labo, and animal crossing are. Which if you don’t then I don’t know why you’re on a gaming news website.

The joke is actually pretty funny: Pokemon Go was a roaring success that, due to the AR encouraging people to go out and walk around in public places, also lead to a frighteningly high number of people getting into accidents due to playing while driving, walking in the street, going into sketchy areas, walking onto…

This is like the Kardashians for Gamers, isn’t it.  This is why I keep hearing about people I’ve never heard of, and yet can’t escape their potentially illegal heaps of drama.

The “currency used to keep playing” thing is an instant no for me on any game. The stupidity of it really hit me when I had to explain it to my 7-year-old. “Sorry buddy, you can’t keep playing this game. You have to wait 20 minutes, or pay some money to keep going.”

No. I’d rather games not be “free” and instead just cost a set amount for whatever experience is on offer. 

There is no situation in which randomized microtransactions are ethical. Let us pay $10 for the entire game or let us pay $1 for a specific character. None of this pipe pulling bullshit.

That fan redesign actually looks better than any sonic within the past decade IMO.
