I am really looking forward to diving into her catalogue and getting to know her stuff. Everything I've heard has been great. I just heard For the Roses for the first time this week and loved it. It's great to see all the passion for her in this comment section right at the time I started getting into her.

I hope it clicks for you! It's really great! Buuut, I also certainly don't mind a very '80s sound (quite the contrary). So I guess it's possible it's just not for you.

Man Bruno was my favorite of his personas on The Ali G show, but that movie was not good. I think the difference in quality is evident based on the hairstyles alone. I don't know what he was thinking changing that.

Hole should be much, much higher.

I haven't listened to all their stuff (need to) but Foxbase Alpha is great. I really like their new one too.

Never been able to get into her TBH.

I said it below, but I'll say it again. The Red Shoes is my choice. I'm fine with including the others, just don't forget that one.

Not many out there that sound like Sky. But since I think we have similar taste in various kinds of electro-pop goodness, you might check out Holychild (The Shape of Brat Pop to Come) and Kero Kero Bonito (Bonito Generation) if you don't know them.

I just looked. #26. I feel better.

#11

Honestly how are you gonna have anything Beyoncé's ever done and not have crazysexycool? Unless I just missed that one…

I haven't heard any of these but I wrote them all down, because anyone who's into Sky is bound to have some good recs. Just started listening to Girls Aloud and it is very much my jam.

They seem to have pretty much done that anyway. Edit: oh I guess you mean Beyoncé. Wouldn't have been anywhere near my top-10 anyway, so I glossed over it.

Can't believe I left Grimes off my omission list. Art Angels belong on there.

Good call on Chvrches. Had Lorde and Jefferson Airplane on my list of omissions. Really surprising they left the latter off.

I'm not real familiar. Been meaning to rectify that, just haven't yet. Thanks for the reminder.

TBH it's top 10 all time for me. And not "albums by females." I mean albums.

Yes to Pure Heroine. Also Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Le Tigre.

Joni Mitchell really is fantastic though. Big Yellow Taxi is probably my favorite song of hers just off the top of my head. So good.

I haven't listened to that much of any of them, but I have been getting into Joni Mitchell after picking up some of her records. I also got the Cyndi Lauper album that they had listed. I haven't listened to it yet because the new Lana Del Rey took over my life, but looking forward to it.
