Yeah actually wine is really best with food. I don't typically drink it if I'm just drinking. The exception is that it might be my go to when I'm drinking alone, lol.

Ever had a dunkelweiss, a doppelbock, or a Scotch ale? Those are good dark beers other than stout (though stout is the best).

5-6% is about right for a beer. If I want more than that I'll just drink wine. And if I want more than that I'll just drink whiskey. (Or a margarita.)
