I had no idea they’re making Nimona into a movie. That’s great news, it’s a fantastic story.

Excellent news, this show’s a gem. Continues the 30 Rock-style humor in spades.
Good. Screw him and everything he stands for.
I’d love to see Comedy Bang! Bang! get a small nod in the film during a ‘later in life’ montage & give Aukerman a cameo
I’m finishing up Fonda Lee’s breathless conclusion to The Green Bone saga, Jade Legacy. This series is marvelous, a family gangster political epic, part Godfather, part City of God, with fantasy kung fu.
After one horrifying incident after another, it’s astonishing that she hasn’t turned her back on this industry of dirtbags. I would have bowed out long before her.
I hope this show doesn’t inspire any real-life killings because a movie based on those could be really confusing
Working through a couple of nice SFF / horror ARCs this year.
Cassandra Khaw’s “Nothing But Blackened Teeth” — horror novella, update on a Haunting at Hill House-style story kicked into overdrive, elevated by Khaw’s devastating prose.
I just finished Remote Control last week and enjoyed it even more than her Binti trilogy. It felt like reading a comic book anti-hero’s origin story that bled over into a novella format. I hope we get more Sankofa stories in the future. There’s plenty of opportunity to expand her story beyond this book.
“The Chippendales’ Murders,” coming soon to Lifetime Network.
There’s an upcoming sci-fi book by Essa Hansen called ‘Nophek Gloss,’ releasing this November from Orbit books, that is just begging for a tv or film adaption. It is phenomenal stuff. Visually captivating, while playing with biology, super-cool tech, pushing humanity’s normalization of boundaries, and a gods-damned…
The tragedy charms bit. That lit a fire under everyone. They knew they struck something good when both Gourley and Daly wanted to make it a weekly segment. My goodness was that amazing.
I’d like to take the credit, but dig, mama, there’s no “i” in “revolutio...”, in “team.”
No amount of money can buy you out of people thinking you’re a douchebag.
The ‘His Dark Materials’ breakout star?
Oh Fuuuu--
Another idea I’ve been mulling over is that Kim not only gets disbarred, but takes her newfound inability to lose a tad too far and ends up arrested. Maybe one of the PI’s gets traced back to her, maybe it’s something she does directly, but she’s caught. Jimmy does absolutely everything he can to help her out of it…
All six episodes are available On Demand today— no need to wait for weekly releases.
I got the sense that Man Boy getting inside Franklin’s house to see who all the closest members of Franklin’s crew are was a pretty smart move. Worth giving up your driver and temporarily losing profits for a few weeks, if you’re really planning a takeover.
I’d also like to recommend:
- Devin Madson - expansive non-European setting across multiple series and generations. Aurealis Award winner. Self-published, but was just picked up by a traditional publisher earlier this year and her books will be available internationally soon. Start with “We Ride the Storm.”
- Sam Hawke…
