Fitz heart was broken but it seems as if he is doing just fine.

My initial point was that Fitz backstory was not given this type of treatment, a whole episode. We actually got to see Big Jerry in action during the campaign trail and also his actions towards Fitz was shown during the Defiance arc. Mellie and Olivia have talked about how Fitz father treated him. So, Fitz

I should be included in the majority. I watched the show for Kerry Washington. I must admit, me and millions of others enjoyed the chemistry between Kerry and Tony. But like millions of others, I got tired of the "will they, won't they. I was also upset with the retconnng of the characters, which is why I was a

Me too. At first, the show only dealt with Fitz's daddy issues and during Season 1 and 2, there was no mention that Olivia had Daddy issues. We knew she didn't deal with her father and he had to sort of bribe her into having weekly dinners with him in exchange for paying her student loans.

It was sensationalism and done for the simple fact to garner sympathy for the character. Two characters where given backstories, Mellie and Jake, and they were given these stories because, as he reviewer said, its Scandals attempt to make these characters happen.

I agree, but I can't deny the unbelievable chemistry between KW and TG. I said in previous years of Scandal that if the casting gods would have cast Scott Foley as Fitz then scandal would have been cancelled. Scandal was on the brink of cancellation until episode 6 of Season 1, the trail. That unbelievable

That's what the showrunner depends on - they want you to forget the previous episodes so you won't notice the enormous plot holes.

Last episode, so much was made about Olivia suffering PTSD and her killing Andrew - why was this issue dropped? You mean to tell me that her PTSD is over and now her main concern was trying to take down Rowan and Jake by stopping the wedding? My biggest fear, which has just been realized, is that Olivia's PTSD was

Especially considering that he was sitting in the church in plain view with Fitz as the best man. I was like, "does Fitz see Rowan? Why isn't he reacting? Just silly writing overall.

I don't think it was inconsistent simply because Jake, deep down inside, realizes that Olivia always runs back to Fitz. When they came from the island Jake wanted to leave immediately after Harrison's funeral, because as he said "he will always be in the shadows of 1600 Penn Ave". Also, when he was pretty much

But in this episode, her father flat out told her that she was essentially worthless and he has no more use for her - and now he will put all of his hopes and desires into his son "Jake". So what part could Olivia have missed?

Actually, Jake's backstory has been "retconned" as usual. If you recall Season 3a, during the "Operation Remington Arc" it was made clear that Jake was forced to join B613. If memory serves me right, Jake provided support for Fitz during Operation Remington, which is how he met Fitz, when Fitz shot down the

You said everything I wanted to say.

I read the synopsis of the remaining 4 episodes and it looks like Olivia's PTSD was used soley as a plot device. I watched the sneek peak for the next episode and it seems as if Olivia is "playing along" with Jake and her father trying to find out what they are up to. The remaining arc is going to be Olivia, once

I think you are missing a very big part of why Hill initially didn't want to pursue her claim, which is the racial aspect. I lived through this period and I can't tell you how many in the black community, both male and female, were against Hill because they believed "she was trying to take a black man down".

I really think that Shonda doesn't have a clue on what they want for Olivia. After Season 2 they ran out of storyline and started going for these OMG moments.

I have checked these boards everyday, waiting, hoping and a little praying that you would post your thoughts on this. As usual, at least for me, you hit the nail right on the head. Everything you post is what I have a problem with, especially using the PTSD as nothing more than a plot device to get their OMG moment.

At the time Fitz was with Amanda Tanner, he and Olivia had not seen each other for a while. When Olivia resigned from the white house, she ended her relationship with Fitz. When Cyrus called Olivia in to handle the case, it was clear that Fitz and Olivia had not seen each other for a while. Mellie even accused

I never fell for it because I don't think he's handsome. He looks like your "run of the mill" frat boy to me. So, because I didn't think he was handsome, I expected him to "bring it" in terms of acting skills, but unfortunately, he doesn't. I believe that he is horribly miscast for the role. They needed someone

Even though I agree that she needed to break up with Fitz (although I hated the way the break up went - it wasn't organic), I just dont see the growth. What was the point of leaving Fitz, just to have hate sex with Jake for a few episodes and then commit the remaining 7 episodes trying to find out what Jake is up to.
