I understand Raina Kelley's frustration, but I still think this film is a step in the right direction for women and black actors. Even as a story that's been told, it's a step up - with no A-list white star, and no glossed-over ugly realities.
It's kind of sad that a woman who we all owe so much to, someone who was called a "monster" and an unfit mother for being an early supporter of reproductive rights, has passed and the post on it is the least commented on of the day so far. Even Snap Judgements are getting more attention. Although what can we say,…
I totally disagree that it's too late to undo the damage. There's a big difference between a beautifully lit photo of a beautiful woman and the photoshop disasters we see everywhere. Those extra digital steps make a big difference. Agencies aren't going to be able to go out and find anyone with a body like the one…
I love the placement of thumbnails for this image and the one below it on the homepage. What's that game called, "Picture the Consequences"? #christinaricci
Maybe I'm too cynical, but I think the title is kind of a cop out. I'm all for taking back negative words, but in the realm of ladymags, the use of a word like this seems both played out and trying too hard. Also, I just really don't want to identify with that word or have it shouting out at me from my coffee table.…
And what about Irina's fake-getting-choked-up on the runway? 'I am an imigrant...sniff, sniff...' And, 'everybody already says I'm mean...'
@hughman: Yeah, rather than sympathy, all he elicits from me is a mad scramble for the mute button. #projectrunwayseason6
@doit2julia: For years now, every time we drive past Mood here in LA my husband shouts out, "Thank you Mood!" in a spot on Tim Gunn voice. #projectrunwayseason6
@hortense: I actually felt insulted last night listening to Heidi talk about how Christopher's done a lot of great work - as if his latest wasn't a representation of everything else he's done. Other than the vampire wedding dress, he's consistently put out the same bad designs and bad fabric choices. Every time the…
@Sarah Dove: Exactly. Maybe it's because rape is a topic I'm too familiar with, but I don't think you have to be a victim to understand this concept. #emmathompsonwithdrawspolanskis...
Every time I hear someone use the excuse, "the victim forgave him and wants to move on", all I can think of is how horrible it is that his actions have, in some ways, defined her life. Because of his celebrity her rape and the aftermath was much different than most victim's. Even women who's rapists weren't…
@CurtCole: Hexa-rella #aimernationalcollege
Space dreads! #aimernationalcollege
@NoelleBlue: Interesting how the light seems to hit them all from different angles.... #vogue
@TubOfTaft: Don't even get me started. I worked for someone exactly like her. She drove a Bentley sedan that cost more to lease every month then half my annual salary. She kept saying she was just waiting for a luxury car to make a hybrid, because, of course a Prius wouldn't do. Of course, once Lexus came out with a…
@Penny: Most people seem to think it's all or nothing. Either you don't try at all or you go live in a cave and eat carrots. I wish people would understand what a huge impact it would make if everyone just did a few things, like you said - switching to cfl lights, walking once and a while, sharing a ride to work. #vog…
Her housekeepers "Beloved...mop"? And, "your virtue will be contagious and the world will begin to change" What a condescending, narcissistic a-hole. I bet she went out and bought an organic t-shirt at Barney's and ordered a special piece of bamboo from Williams-Sonoma. #vogue
