I'll look into it. These things are very interesting to me and I thank you for making me aware of it. As a placeholder I'll just say that it usually becomes a game of probabilities and statistics and these things can often be counter intuitive and definitely running the risk of becoming subjective and biased.

Ok, that seems like an organizational problem. Otherwise you have to be more stringent what you mean by "bogus". The science doesn't work if you have sloppy procedures, documentation, personel and whatnot.

Yeah, maybe I'm missing something here but I have a hard time believing the FBI would teach "go with your gut feeling" and "evidence lies".
I can buy that the elusive "gut feeling" is based on years and years of knowledge and experience, but it can't(and probably shouldn't) be taught like that.
