This first episode was just so compelling, chilling, and beautifully shot .

What a shame. I liked the slow burn as well as the performances. Willa Fitzgerald’s Coach Colette, still expecting to get exactly what she wants and getting disenchanted when she does, Herizen Guardiola’s Addy, going through the world as if it could come crumbling down any second and bracing for it, and Marlo Kelly’s

I went to see Glass but what has really been on my mind all day is the S. Korean show Kingdom (Netflix). Only 6 episodes so I watched over the course of 3 days. It’s beautifully shot and genuinely tense. I was on the edge of my seat until the final moment. Anyone else a fan?

Just came from seeing this. C- is a fair grade. The script is pretty all over the place. There are a couple of interesting ideas that they could have explored, but it felt like they didn’t know how to fully express those ideas and turn it into something meaningful and coherent.

- That stab was deeply unsettling*, but effective. I find myself with more of a sense of dread during scenes where Kriezler is alone with another human (dead or alive) than the actual murders.

yeah that was a confusing bit because it seems like he’s one of the more likable out of the characters we’ve been introduced to. I’m actually finding it harder to like Lazlo.

Yeah I’m really enjoying the “dark comedy of manners” aspects of the show, watching Sara and John interacting with the world around them is fascinating and amusing.

As someone who dearly misses both The Knick and Penny Dreadful*, I will continue to watch this. The mystery itself might not amount to much (and that last monologue was A LOT) but I do love the atmosphere and enjoy the actors involved.

This makes me so sad.
