Obviously the best look was the dancers during Herald of Darkness. Absolutely brought it.

I still buy physical media all the time. WB can delist Goodfellas off of Max so they can license it out to another service for a few months, but they can’t delist my anniversary Blu-Ray off my shelf!

I had An Xbox account a few years back that got permabanned, in the almost 10 years I had the account (since early 360 days) I had purchased probably THOUSANDS of dollars worth of content, TV shows, movies, games and dlc, etc. Well my account gets banned and ALL that content was stripped and taken from me, had I

At least you can burn CDs/DVDs and make infinite copies.

I bet they will be. Its a classic class action suit and I don’t see how you couldn’t win.

Yeah, the mass digitization of media gives corporations a lot more control of things you believe you owned. This is just a small example of anti-consumerism.

They really should be taken to court for this. Licenses expiring is a common thing in digital distribution. The solution is to pull the licensed content from the store, not user libraries. That’s been the standard practice for games, I don’t see why it should be any different for movies or TV shows.

This is one of the many reasons I’ve started collecting blu-rays and 4k discs in 2023.

The very obvious unintended consequence will be people writing bad reviews just to get a response from Bethesda.

The only reason I can see Bethesda forcing its customer service reps to respond to Steam reviews is that the Mixed score means more to them than we think. Maybe they think that’s what’s keeping it off of GOTY lists, or maybe high level devs are counting on a Positive Steam score for job performance benefits, as

I’m really surprised that their PR team thought it would be a good idea to argue with people on the internet.

I’d argue the response is more “You are mistaken. You do not know what FUN is. We here at Bethesda know what FUN is. So you are wrong and your complaint is invalid.

“The astronauts weren’t bored when they went to the moon”

Such an unbelievably bad look from them. Not that Bethesda has many good looks, but man. What on earth do they imagine is the value of responding to reviews saying “I dont think this game is fun” with “Well we think its super fun. Maybe the most fun, so, nyeh. -Bethesda”. Genuinely feels like Todd Howard’s massively

As a huge Bethesda fan who has put more than 10,000 hours into Skyrim over the years (and even, yes, loved Fallout 76), Starfield at the very least has serious pacing issues that prevent it from reaching the heights of the other goty nominees. This year was absolutely stacked, so I think in other years, it would at

That’s because Starfield is the definition of mediocre, and for the budget and time spent pathetically empty.

Why should it get nods at the VGAs? Indie titles are more engaging. It’s supposed to be recognized why, exactly? A gigantic balloon budget and a celebrity game director?

I am like a huge fan of Starfield, and really enjoyed it, but even I think the others were just extremely strong in comparison, this year was packed with amazing games!

Maybe? But I feel like they set themselves up for it. Microsoft literally described Starfield as one of the most important RPGs ever made, and then it barely even made the list of nominees. I think if they’re going to oversell it like that it’s fair to call them out.

What, there’s no category for ‘game that managed to completely meet everyone’s expectations both positive and negative?’ No award for ‘game that contained not a single surprise’? Voted number one in the category of ‘sure is the kind of game you’d expect this company to make in 2023 without any internal shakeups or

You’d have to actually be insane to nominate starfield for game of the year, even if it didn’t have so much fierce competition this year, so I’m not seeing the issue. Even “Best RPG” is a stretch, but there weren’t exactly dozens of high profile RPGs this year, so you’ve got to fill out the list somehow.
