Ditto on the neighbors: especially if you have the neighbor’s backyard next to your bedroom(s). If you buy a house that’s a cooperative — where everyone must follow the rules in the subdivision — you may be saved from the noise issue. They usually have tons of rules, fees, and fines.

Or the dirt looks light brown rather than a deep black/brown of fresh soil. I inherited a few plants from someone who moved. The plants were doing fine except the dirt looked light brown and old.

Many years ago, I drove a Lexus IS where the infotainment system flipped out while driving: it went blank for several seconds, rebooted itself. After doing this again, I took it into the dealership. They told me to buy an iPhone because it’s incompatible with Android phones. At the time, iPhones are only available

Well, I’ve had tangential dealings with a self-cleaning oven causing an apartment fire and learned about the self-cleaning feature of the oven (i.e., you won’t catch me using it). I’m not keen on burning down my home so I’ve never used this feature. I just periodically vacuum crumbs and wipe down the interior. It

A while back, I splurged on a D5 sauce pan: wow. I love how quickly it gets things done. (And that it has a handle, since my old — cheap — sauce pan’s handle came off.) I would never go all copper because it’s too high maintenance.

I’ve only heard of this during college (got suckered into a meeting by a friend). It was enlightening to see the pyramid scheme in action. Made myself a royal-pain while I was there because if I had to suffer, I’m going to ruin the MDM’s act. I was brought there under false pretenses to start, so I didn’t care.

I use a convection (toaster) oven. Best thing we ever invested money in. Day-old fries perk up like a champ.  And it does other things like small baking jobs, toasting, etc.  Multipurpose.

First start with crevice tool of vacuum cleaner to get all the crumbs and bits in the gap between the oven door and oven when the door is open. Also get the ones stuck on the bottom of the oven.  Then proceed with deep cleaning.

When flying, I usually download the app of whatever airline I’m flying so I receive notifications of any changes. And, they sometimes have the airport layouts on it. You can also ask the flight attendant on the plane for gate information for arrival gate and how to get to connecting flight. They know the tricks to the

My comments about rooting are that certain phone variants (VZ) are hard to root. If you do obtain root, then be prepared for many things to break (Google Pay is a common one). And you have to understand how to fix your OS, or at least be prepared to be very patient once you manage to soft-brick it.

I would also mention another allergy medication named Xyzal (levocetirizine dihydrochloride) has the same side effect of depression.

Oh, yeah... a vacation with really bad food poisoning from sprouts. I had to go to a medical clinic and couldn’t eat for half the trip. Never eat sprouts again.

Ugh. I had this very thing happen when I had to unexpectedly stay overnight due to weather-related flight delay. It was tough to find a nearby hotel due to the amount of stranded travelers. When we finally found one, the hotel gave us a room that was not cleaned. After my very firm chat with the front desk, we were

I have to try it this way. I sometimes use the Alton Brown suggestion and use a knife and roughly cut them in chunks in the can. I always think I’m dulling my knife. I have thought of using the hand blender when in I’m in a rush... never did it due to the splash/Jackson-Pollack factor.

All of this just makes me feel like I should be buying tubs of Lysol wipes and washing my hands like a doctor prepping for surgery before eating or need to touch my face. I’m only half-joking.

It’s not just in Chinatown... it’s what people think is Chinese-owned restaurant. I went to an asian fusion place and it was EMPTY at dinner over the weekend. This place was never empty, and it only happened within one week’s time.

It depends on the situation and how willing you are to pay for the consequences

Exterminator to cover exterior areas. Terro ant bait for areas they congregate. Cover large entry areas with borax/diatomaceous earth mix. That seem to have worked for me.

For kitchens with perpetual lingering cooking odors: clean the hood filter, wipe down the fan blades (as best you can), the housing around the fan, and the backsplash. If the hood filter is greasy, I soak it in hot water with Dawn liquid soap, then scrub. In between, deep cleans, I use Formula 409 all-surface cleaner.

That’s only if the delivery service actually do their job: got home and no delivery. I cancelled the order and the service.  I bought groceries the next day instead.
