Seconded. Extinction Rebellion has been going nuts over here in London, and while I applaud their goals, the whole shutting-down-roads thing is counterproductive. If you make someone late for work or keep their pregnant wife from getting to the hospital, they’ll donate to the opposing cause just for spite.

You really would think that at some point even the Republican base would demand that its leaders actually DO something constructive or build something, wouldn’t you? But no, torturing teenagers and burning books is enough.

Inspections are rarely worth shit. They are there for lawyers to make bank off of after the fact. It is absurd that a dozen movies are made for $250million or more every year.  They can’t all be runaway blockbusters.  How do these executives keep their jobs when more than half tentpole movies lose scores of millions of dollars?

Movie economics used to be that you made ten movies, and some of them would inevitably flop, but the rest would make enough to pay for everything. Then someone had the bright idea to only make the ones that make money, which works great until it doesn’t.

They are also looking for the right to take one’s deposit money and/or payment and not render services - and then keep the money after refusal due to their “deeply held beliefs.”
