Thought the fan whining that Polaris was boosted by non-comics readers was so silly. It’s great that the character has a fanbase that lives outside of comics fandom

finally caught dark phoenix this weekend - perhaps it was my booster shot induced haze - but I think I enjoyed it more than any of the Fox X-men films since First Class. There were some messy bits for sure but it felt like a good outing

because she’s the most important person in starfleet and the galaxy. there are absolutely no starfleet captains who have been captaining ships for years through the burn who might have something to add to the discussion

there’s also the matter that they could have easily bought his pitch and shelved it away like they’ve done with a lot of other trek pitches over the years

I *love* The Royale. and Up the Long Ladder. And the one where they go to space africa

I liked Ant Man being part of the crew. Added to their air that the general public has only a cursory, at best, understanding of anything that’s really happened in the Avengers conflicts.

oh god this is the first time i’ve really put together that kreese might be johnny’s dad. I don’t know how I feel about that

its basically an anime

We already know the first Krakoan Age eventually comes to an end.  Not sure if they’re considering Destiny of X the “second Krakoan Age”

it’s hard for me to be hopeful about this. bringing back davies feels like the BBC refusing to admit defeat! It’s not that Who can’t work with new blood, you just need to be willing to find and hire the right person! When Chinball didn’t want to commit to the schedule they’d set for the show, they should’ve axed him

I appreciate that you still think we will get another superman outing involving cavill

everyone I know who’s seen the movie has liked garfield - I did too - but this “FANS WANT HIM BACK” thing seems entirely astroturfed by Sony bot accounts

I really think any Holland vs Doc Ock has to go with a live action version of Livia from Spider-verse

I think what has always frustrated me is that it makes absolutely no sense to plan a Sinister Six movie. There’s got to be other spider characters they own that would make more sense that villains? Don’t they own Spider-Woman? I remember when they vaguely discussed Spider-Gwen

I liked his first movie a lot. I always thought it struck the right tone and visuals of what I wanted from Spider-man. My *only* beef with that movie was that his peter parker felt a little too cool.

she is a complete non-factor, not even sure she is named on screen besides a name tag? you just see her lurking around oscorp and I guess the implication is that she’s working some long con but it 100% doesn’t matter

feel like there is perfect space for Venom and Garfield’s Spidey to coexist but it seems pretty clear that Hardy is from an entirely different dimension. Obviously these aren’t insurmountable issues

I think this is where you and I might diverge. Because I’ve long been of the opinion that these movies aren’t really for comic book fans anymore - they are products specifically for fans of MCU movies. And those people certainly do feel things, almost universally positive about those movies, as we’ve seen from how

I’m not sure “pure escapism” really works as a get out of jail free card here. I just rewatched Spider-verse and that movie is 100% escapism and nobody would deny there’s still so much to talk about. Every single time I watch it there’s something new I pick up on.

Comedy for sure given the team. I like the premise but it seems like it would work better as a movie than a weekly show.
