it’s insane to me, all the years later, they won’t drop the core books down to 40-50 bucks, even for the holidays. Lets get more people into this hobby!

Ricci alone is enough to make me watch this but I cannot stand the idea of them dragging a show like this out 4 or 5 seasons. Would love to go into it knowing theres a set beginning middle and end

BOTW and SwSh had the exact same problem: a big empty world that’s impressive at first but hallow the more you dig into it. There really is no replay value in BOTW compared to a game like Skyrim

yes. they’ve always used mildly irritating (at best) puzzles to gatekeep legendary pokemon, but what if they used to gate off zones with rare monsters or alternate forms or wild ones with egg/unique moves. Bring back that feeling I had as a kid scouring the safari zone for a taurus and chansey

I would just like: a better system for facilitating multiplayer, improved raids, and *something* that finally ends the ability of Smogon users to craft their stupid damn teams. Randomize the EVs and IVs, add more numerical qurirks to individual pokemon’s movelists - just something to keep the game feeling fresh

Exactly. To me, one of the biggest things holding the franchise back and is the unwillingness to carry over features. A pokemon following you like in HG/SS and Mega Evolutions should’ve been part of Sword and Shield

No dog in the fight but I personally hope things work out for Mulaney and Munn. I’ve had friends go through the “new relationship-fast pregnancy-break up-lets figure out how to coparent” thing and it’s a special kind of torture (sometimes!) that I wouldn’t wish on most people

in what world was naming a character after an employee like this considered a good idea? all allegations of bad behavior aside - it just seemed like something anyone could’ve said was a bad idea long term

it is insane to me that there’s a contingent of people who are against hard term limits. I’ve been shouted down before because “term limits would lead to a lack of expertise!” because the current system of pols who bend over for their corporate donors for decades before retiring to take jobs with them has been working

I wouldn’t call this a fair assessment. Drivers identities are on record and they’re background checked regularly. We actually used to get a lot of guff because the background checks weeded out a lot of people (shit like, marijuana charges for example) who probably would’ve made okay drivers.

When I was taking these calls we were always told that “safety incidents” amounted to about 2% of all rides, sexual assaults would’ve been a much smaller piece of that. Entirely anecdotal but I struggle to remember a time when I would’ve taken more than 2 or 3 such calls in a week (and kissing/groping were much more

This is really chilling to read as someone who used to take these “safety reports.” Not to get all woe-is-me, but it fucking sucked to get thrown into a role of a de facto rape crisis hotline worker without any real training or guidance beyond “be sensitive and empathetic”

I do one minute at high pressure (which basically amounts to five minutes), depressurize, quick dunk and peel. always perfect. if I let the IP natural release I always find the eggs to be a bit overdone.

you buy nuggets for your dog? no judgement here since I definitely give mine bites of human food but I try to avoid giving him fried stuff

the funny thing about Kimmel example is that are some people on twitter who will post kimmel’s man show blackface sketch once or twice a year hoping to rile up a cancellation mob. It never works.

I really and truly believe that in most cases, digging up comments more than a year old reflects more on the person who did the digging than the person who said them originally.

controversial take here but I do not think restrictions on kids gaming time is bad - shouldn’t be government mandated at all though.

I think this is a take that only people who really spent too much time on tumblr during a certain period of time will appreciate. You’re right, of course, especially about the way it allowed for the hyper-crystalization of certain identities and aesthetic subcultures - and this is something that has impacts far beyond

I can’t believe this is what people are claiming they’re traumatized over

I mean it’s the very same as the “video games need to be treated as serious art....how dare you critique the content of this game or give it a low rating!” people, but of a more progressive flavor. You can’t claim you want diverse, queer art and then get mad as soon as a piece of queer art does something that makes
