you’re 100% right. the MCU spider-man films generally portray a completely infantalized version of the character stuck in tony stark’s shadow

The longstanding rumor has been that this movie will end with a magical hand-wave by Strange to make everyone forget Peter’s identity. I hope those rumors are false

I cannot wait to watch this. This show has become critical viewing for me every week. Those first two episodes were rough but I’m glad I stuck with it. It’s really grown out of his initial showing as just a watered down rick and morty clone with a star trek skin slapped over it. 

this I would absolutely watch. its truly a fucking shame hollywood doesn’t see Cho as a bankable leading man

I generally feel the same way but I think one more Kelvin movie would be fun, especially if they really let us say good bye to the Kelvinverse with a bang - aka, adapt the Alpha Quadrant early borg invasion from the Boldly Go comics.

Hard agree. I don’t think every Superman story needs to be a punch fest, but the character needs to be challenged! And beyond the plane scene (and I guess the emotional turmoil of dealing with his son) this movie doesn’t really challenge superman.

Not sure but I’d imagine Hickman has read a lot of the Marvel UK output and such in prep for this run

yes that’s been the longstanding term for mutants established in the Captain Britain/Exacalibur books

I mean, like the difficulties we saw with Kitty’s ressurection, its possible they don’t have Santo’s DNA on file at all. His body was made of energy. Even Proteus just inhabits Xavier clones since they can’t actually clone his long destroyed body

Loved this issue and I’ve been loving Dawn of X....but I really wish they’d done this plot with any of the Otherworld/Captain Britain nonsense. I get why, I understand wanting to bring all the disparate continuity together....but that Otherworld stuff just never worked for me with the X-men, that should be some Doctor…

I’m really bummed by this. My bad has been binging the Arrowverse shows since some health isuses left him largely immobile - we spent so much time watching these shows together and Supergirl (along with Black Lightning) were two of our favorites. A much better show than the ones that spawned it

1) On the one hand - I feel like whenever conservatives are in power american liberals move back to the bread and butter culture war stuff - this person is a racist! this book is problematic!

borrowed this from the library a few months ago after having not seen it since childhood - absolutely loved it. it is a fun popcorn flick

to your B point - I think its understated that there is a fairly sizable segment of people active in discussing, making and critiquing ttrpg material who never actually play these games with other humans. 

I deleted mine almost 4 years ago and have not looked back.
