I'm wondering if this is an iphone thing? I don't have an iphone anymore, but I use itunes pretty much as my main music player and I had to hunt for a second to find the download in the purchased stuff. Nothing downloaded automatically for me.

Lost it at "serving up an unlimited bowl of truth".

I talked to him a bit after the show last time I saw him, and he was just completely drained. So, you're probably right that he won't be able to keep doing it forever.

Cool. I'd also give Hissing Fauna a shot. It's a bit closer to Sunlandic Twins.

What did you think of the Flaming Lips? The first time I saw them was sometime around 2007, so they were still doing mostly Yoshimi stuff with some from At War With the Mystics, and that show was like, one of my top 5 shows. Then I saw them recently, and I didn't enjoy it nearly as much. They changed up their

That sounds like a really cool Yo La Tengo show. I remember they had great stage banter when I saw them.

Hah, yeah. I understand the compulsion to keep giving their new stuff a chance, and the compulsion to buy their limited edition vinyl shit. I backed their kickstarter for that documentary they came out with just to get the Young froth/taypiss record and I don't usually do that kind of thing either.

Absolutely. Skeletal Lamping was the one that lost me. I eventually came around to it and I can enjoy that one and the newer stuff, even, but I much prefer Aldhils, for instance.

It was a "lock yourself in and binge tv shows and movies" kind of weekend for me.

God, I hope that person was trolling.

Call this an unfair generalization if you must, but old people are no good at everything

Excellent article, and even though I'm unfortunately too late to add anything that hasn't already been said, thanks everyone who shared so openly. On the one hand, it helps to know that you're not alone, but on the other hand, it scares the shit out of me that "manageable" might be the best I can hope for, with so

Sometimes I feel like the A.V. Club is the only place on the internet where a disagreement can be this respectful.

+1 for Hotline Miami. That one is incredible. And Bastion too.

I don't know why I'm giving this this much thought, but I honestly don't think it follows that an MFi license program for lightning compatible headphones means they are doing away with the 3.5mm TRS jacks. Like, Apple is stupid, but they're not THAT stupid. And there's certainly no reason why they couldn't include

Some bluetooth headphones already do have rechargeable batteries that you plug in with a mini USB to recharge. So it's not unheard of.

This is bullshit. The headphone jack is far from being the weakest link in the ipod listening chain.

That was eight years ago? Jesus.

Wouldn't hurt for him to call Dr. Robert anyway though.

Cut him some slack, he's a serious man.
