Yeah, A&W pretty much defined what root beer should taste like for me. When I first tasted it (mid 1960s on Cape Cod) it was a revelation, maybe one of my first food-related ones. While a lot of other supermarket brands taste like flavored battery acid, A&W has a creaminess that is distinctive.

The garage in Cleveland attached to my office building became the go-to garage for construction workers for several nearby projects. None of them were transporting tools or materials each day, just transporting their fat asses and big lunchboxes.
