Former ‘12 370Z Nismo owner here.

It was my dream car. Drove hundreds of miles to see it at the Chicago Auto Show when they first were introduced. Bided my time and saved my sheckles so that when they dropped into my price range I could afford one. Finally found one in spring of 2017 in St. Louis that was in my range

Slightly tangential ...

So everybody in Editorial is mad about this too. Besides the fact that it looks terrible, we have to actually work in Kinja all day long.

Get rid of these damned autoplay videos with sound!

Are you sure this historic vehicle organization doesn’t already support the same guidelines in the case of a traditional engine swap? I interpret it to be them expanding their guidelines to electric cars.

Hurray! Someone else (and I also do restos + mark + label parts) that gets it! I couldn’t figure the anger. When you sell off your electric E type project 10 years from now, If I can find the left side motor mount + carb mounting bracket (and the 100's of other stupid special parts) it makes my life sooo much easier

??? Your rant is based on this paragraph alone?

Um...what you quoted simply addresses a recommendation that people who convert to EV keep their old parts safe and well-labelled.

What’s wrong with hence? When you think of all the bullshit words millennials are spewing forth to describe things for which perfectly good words already exist, hence is the least of your problems.

Jalopnik: Hey! don’t buy special cars just to put them away in a garage to sell them in BaT in twenty years!

Also Jalpnik:

eh.. a 100k tesla is not a ‘mass consumption’ vehicle. Cmon w/that mess.

So I love this site, and rarely post (never anything negative), but it seems to me an odd sort of cognitive dissonance to constantly be blogging about all the awesome new Lamborghinis, Aston Martins, McClarens, etc... and then scoff at/be condescending to those who actually buy them. (I do not and could not afford to o

I get the appeal, but personally I’d want a home with a toilet and a shower.

Over 5k pounds, for sure. It would also flex like hell, but it would still be the closest thing to a modern land barge. I wouldn’t own one, but I might rent one.

Inevitably the person doing didn’t grow up in NYC.

Good to see Alyssa Walker is staying active with her writing.

Ill never forget the day I won a ‘92 Honda prelude and sold it for $2 million

People who follow celebrities of this, uh, caliber, and then get mad at them for conspicuous consumption, are insane. Why not go to the dentist and get annoyed with all this chit-chat about teeth?

I applaud her taste in autos. But then I love cars. The Chiron is an amazing hyper car. Maybe next time, invest in a McLaren Speedtail or Lamborghini Centurario. At least it’s not some unoccupied penthouse in Manhattan. Maybe she should just keep the purchases private. Now I’m off to watch a real car collection on

That’s a Jalopnik deep cut.
