That was proven to be a hoax

So you create a culture of fear and distrust. Ensure every loony is armed to the teeth. Create a series of regulations that absolves said loonies from the consequences of shooting first and asking questions later if they feel “threatened.” Then you’re suprises that the loonies see everyone else as others?

To me, the answer is obvious. We are not better than this. You may be and I maybe, but “We” are not.

Sure is great that Governor Abbott is spending money to put razor wire in a river and pay some gun thugs to harass both immigrants and federal border patrol workers, instead of fixing the electrical grid that seems to fail at least yearly. This republican trifecta government sure is working out well for everyday

OK hear me out, next hurricane we just let Florida and Texas go, they’ve have a good run, let nature take it back.

Maybe it’s time for the Utility workers to pull out for a bit until people start acting right

Nothing to see here... just a bunch of Responsible Gun Owners doing Responsible Gun Owner things.  Move along!

We just are so much better than this.

“If you’re interfering with somebody who’s trying to get the power back up, you’re not speeding up the process of getting the power back on; you’re slowing that process down,”

The real fine isn’t the check that Boeing will pay.

Well, we’re going back to a monarchy in November, so who cares?

Does your editor ever read your articles? Or are you guys now paid by the click? This place cratered somewhere along the line.

What a ridiculous article.

Judging every other river by the one of the biggest rivers in the world really isn’t fair.

Hell yeah.

I believe Mr. Bellwood is from the UK, where “rammed” is often used to mean packed or crowded.

I thought it would be less obnoxious if they just had a layover at an airfield before the jump and processed everyone there.

I have it filed in the “this is a non-story” pile.

There is a remaining passenger (no cars) hover service to the Isle of Wight, and a museum of hovercraft on the mainland end of the crossing in Lee-on-Solent.

Sounds like a lot, sure, but even if you use worst-case numbers — let’s say that max consumption of 1000 gallons an hour — you’re really only talking about 2 gallons of fuel per person to move them (and their car) the 27 miles across the channel. So even at a cost of $10/gallon it’s $20 per person — Not outrageous.
