Another data point - Wife and I, $400/mo in car insurance (1M/3M + umbrella), about $350/mo in health/vision/etc, about $300/mo in homeowners insurance (plus umbrella). Add in bits and bobs - minimum of 12k+/yr. Just to be safe walking around.

Yes, US. My insurance for a family of 4 costs about $7k a year out of my paycheck. My company pays 80% of the cost, so, it’s about $35k a year for the insurance total. It doesn’t pay the first $2500 (or $5k for the family.) It also refuses coverage all the time. I am currently fighting with them about a $15k bill

British here, likewise. Healthcare in the US is all kinds of fucked up.

Canadian here.

I’m a believing person and try not to swear too much but JESUS H. CHRIST what is wrong with these people? I thought repubs were supposed to be all about less government so what are they doing in my, or anyone else’s lady business?

Complete with color-matched wheels, I see.

We’re going need some clarification here. Grasmere green was a colour option on the OG defenders. is this a new shade of green with the same name or just the first time Grasmere is available for the new defender?

Just a general point - Grasmere green is only new to this defender. It’s based on the colour of the original Land Rover and was used most recently on the Heritage Defenders (when they did the run out series for the old model). Also with the cool pain matched wheels. Shame the new one above didn’t have the contrast

I am honestly just so upset about the continued attack on the NHS. I moved here from the US just before getting pregnant, and I could not believe (I mean, I could but...) how easy everything was. Just signed up for a GP and went in for my appointments, and never a single penny to pay or haggling phone call with an

Thank you! People who probably can’t identify the UK on a map, let alone Nigeria seem to have a lot to say about British imperial geopolitics.

QEII was not Queen Victoria. She did not preside over the “British Empire” that Anya decries, but rather over the decolonization that followed it’s decline into the modern commonwealth.

Will it grenade on impact? Or do you use it to deliver grenades to your opponents?

Colonialism actually waned under her rule. This article is about the Queen herself, not the entire British Empire. Have some respect for the dead.

Honestly, I have to get this off my chest... my love of the automotive industry is what turned me away from the right-wing.

I was massively GOP for a long time, thanks to my father. He was a Limbaugh/Drudge/FoxNews addict. Otherwise a good, decent man, but a lifetime of believing right-wing propaganda. I, personally,

I’ve been out of the auto industry for 8 years now, and at the that time we were working on sourcing trivalent chrome platings because we couldn’t export vehicles to certain countries that included hexavalent chrome.

I don’t know if it was invented in Britain, but the variety of spaghetti bolognese as described in this article is pretty common in Europe (although this is the first time I’ve heard it called “spag bol”). My informal survey and incomplete memory of when I lived in Europe left me with the impression that its the

‘British’ refers to all the countries on the island of Great Britain, so Scots and the Welsh are British as are the English. It’s not just a synonym for ‘English’.

In my lower income Australian childhood home we went one better (lower!) and called it spag *bog*. 🙂

It’s really easy to piss off Italians when it comes to food.

I don’t even consider Ford USA and Ford Europe to be the same company, to be honest. I can’t believe how different they both are.
