Here in the U.K. it has to be taxed, insured and MOT’d (yearly vehicle inspection on vehicles over three years old) but you can keep it unTAX’d off road if you notify the DVLC (U.K. DMV) that the vehicle is off road (SORN, Statutory Off Road Notification), but it needs to be booked in for an MOT (if it’s out of MOT)…
