If there is structural corrosion it’s usually down to ‘advisories’ being ignored at previous MOTs because as you say, it’s not worth it against the value of the car.
They didn’t sell many over here mainly due to the high price Vauxhall wanted and add to that the tax and fuel costs, plus Vauxhall only sold them from certain dealerships, not all of them so they kept quite a bit of there price artificially.
The price of certain Defenders, certainly ones in the last three years of manufacture. A guy I know bought a one year old Defender 90 for just over £25,000, sold it a few months later to a guy who kept on at him for it for £8,000 profit. If it’s a limited edition you can pretty much name your price.

But offset that with the U.S. 25 year rule and that in the U.K. we can register virtually anything from any country as long as it has some safety features, rear foglight and separate indicator and side/stop lights.
