I had my doubts from the start since they took ‘expansionist empire infiltrating superheroes’ and turned it into ‘refugees turned terrorist spy fare’ but the worst thing is that it’s also boring and the spycraft is poorly done. It’s failing on all cylinders.

I’m holding final judgement until I see the full setting not just the quick-guide snippet. For me mechanics are take ‘em or leave ‘em but lore and world building is what snags me and keeps me.

From a ‘dollar to amount of play/fun’ perspective it’s honestly not that bad a price point. Roleplaying, as a hobby, doesn’t have a high price of entry for what it provides in amount of content.

‘Transplants’ is a bit of a weird word choice though as it implies a sense of permanency when we’re talking about guests.

It also bears mentioning that Illuminated Worlds is designed by Stras Acimovic and Layla Adelman. The former did Scum and Villainy and was one of the designers on Blades in the Dark.

Sadly that’s already a very big ask. 

WGC has informed its members to follow the WGA strike rules. So there might be fewer pickets but there won’t be bringing in Canadian writers who are non-WGA (but still guild) to get around the strike. 

My guess would be high-prestige showrunners who care more about ‘getting theirs’ than the greater good.

(This is not saying all such showrunners fall in that category but that the subset who do likely made the nay votes)

Solidarity. The wage to work disparity between writers (and other workers) and execs is insane and needs correction. The product wouldn’t exist without the people who put in actual labor.
