I’m all for ‘case of the week’- with a show like this it usually works better with that than trying to force a strong narrative. That said I agree the emotive direction didn’t work that well. Give us less heavy sentimentality (these actors, while not bad, don’t carry it well) and more action and/or mystery.

How’s that Dorito’s sponsorship, Riverdale? As subtle as your plots I see.

Putting my bet on the pastor being one of the moles that Till is hunting. He doesn’t really serve any purpose if not.

See, if they had made a statue of a koala in a Mario outfit, success, you’d have a thing of beauty. Sadly they thought that was not far enough.....

Wow I was expecting a bullshit lack of self-awareness like ‘well it’s not like it’s illegal’. I was not expecting it to go so far as to think they’re an industry let alone an important one. What a bunch of tools

This is an alt-future and they’ve already revealed that Bruce is still alive just assumed dead.

Yeah I can definitely go for a second Wanda and Vision series but not a second Wandavision. This concept was great but it’s good for a small dose not a continuing series in itself.

Well I was right in my personal guest as to what character - but not what actor. Impressive.

You keep saying the show has too many characters but, really, the cast list isn’t bloated. It is just, as you do rightly point out, that they do a shitty job developing *any* of them.

I’m so very annoyed at the ‘hand of god’ actively killing all the antagonists *before* setting off the nuke. Which means the nuke

Well a guarantee of even more Legends *almost* gives an upside to covid.

I don’t like leaving shows unfinished but, damn, are they really trying me. Lip slipping back into drinking is a shit thing this late in a final season but, sure, it fits the character. Him *actively* trying to drag Brad down with him though, fuck that. It isn’t necessary for the story and doesn’t fit Lip either -

It’s obvious Teague put a lot of work in. Harold, as detestable as he is, is the best part of the adaptation. Too bad the showrunners didn’t do the same level of effort.

Eh it kind of is when it comes to sex and sex work as it’s one of the few mainstream social media platforms that still (kind of) tolerates it and thus allows conversations and communication to actually spread and flourish.

I don’t think Ruth giving them the suite is any sort of face turn for her character. Wilford needs new generations of followers to serve him so supporting the pregnant woman is all along with ‘The Plan’. I have little doubt that, at this point, Ruth would betray them in a heartbeat if given the opportunity to do so

2 is the peak but later games are still good.

Now playing

For anyone with time to kill (which is many of us these days) and a love of D&D Krystina is great in this Dark Sun campaign - even if her character, in character, can be a pain.

Harold is the only thing that really works in this adaptation which, as a character you’re supposed to hate, doesn’t make for much in terms of compelling viewing.

Witch-Queen’s Assassins of Kattegat’ would make for such an amazing pulp, alt-history show though - I just wouldn’t trust Hirst to make it.

Having just watched the two premiere episodes I can say past knowledge is not (yet, at least) necessary. Other than knowing ‘there is something very off here but the character’s don’t know it yet’ any other Marvel/MCU knowledge has been easter eggs.

Yeah as rough as this has been all along Vegas really ruined it - especially given the current climate.

Fascism is scary and fucked up and evil. Hedonistic sex parties... aren’t. The murder for sport aspect was the only actually offensive thing and that was glossed over as a background item and never given any actual
