You get a few thousand erases with the built in battery, which is in theory not replaceable but I haven’t pulled it apart to check. Otherwise, the screen behaves like an e-ink screen and the screen is more or less permanently visible. I’m not sure if it’d last with the same image for, like, years, but hopefully that’s

In the good ol’ days you had an entire separate executable (Woo QuakeWorld!) to run that was optimized for internet play. But even on a 56k I never got ping times as atrocious as 272 unless the tubes were broken.

I would argue that Valve isn’t a typical game development studio though. I would also argue that they haven’t been a game development studio for a while too, but it’s been too recent since my last burning at the stake.

Check your local rules, but generally you also don’t want to crush aluminum or tin cans before putting them in the recycling bins. It does take up a lot of extra space, but leaving them uncrushed makes it much easier for the recycling center to sort them.

The dispensary near me (also in Boulder, incidentally) actually does take credit cards, but they charge you a $2 fee for it. It’s the only one I’ve seen that does, every other one I’ve been to is cash only.

Do we get medical exceptions? I broke my foot last week and I haven’t even tried putting on a pair of pants around this bulky boot. Shorts are MUCH easier to deal with, and less likely to tweak my leg in unpleasant ways.

Yep, when the pile reaches $0, you just order the Jester killed and get a new one.

And when you invariably get stuck in the Gulf of Mexico for three weeks with nothing but your library, it’s pretty damn nice to have a hundred or so titles on a Kindle compared to the 4-5 I could reasonably pack on board (or pick up at the only walmart for a few hundred miles.)

Yeah, I love the screen because it doesn’t melt when I leave it in my car like any paperback ever made.

Got an Android phone? Agreed to that vague privacy thing during setup about location tracking?

I wasn’t just reluctant, I was pissed off that they bundled in some garbage that I had to install and have online to play the game, and then their service exploded under the weight. Valve pioneered the always-on garbage and it’s own host of problems.

I’ll be surprised if we ever see another Half-Life during Newell’s reign. Why bother doing expensive and lengthy sequels that aren’t guaranteed to be a hit when you can make more money incrementally tweaking Steam and coming out with ludicrous (SteamOS), not-so-ludicrous (Vive), and mundane (HATS) products?

I recently pulled an SSD from a laptop and put it in another laptop with a different just about everything, and Windows 10 handled it fine. 5 years ago I wouldn’t even have tried to boot it, I’d just format and start over.

I was asked once to cover the windows, but we were landing at Phoenix Sky Harbor, and when it’s 120+ outside, you want to try and not turn the airplane into an oven.

I have this lamp and putting any serious headphones on it would cause the lamp to close and the headphones to fall off. It’d be fine with a light headset though, and you can always reinforce the hinges somehow for bigger pairs if you don’t adjust it much.

Just get a pair of cut resistant gloves if you’re really concerned. I honestly wouldn’t use one without the gloves, guard or no, but to each their own.

I can see why the Clippers would be reluctant to part with Philip Rivers, newly in Los Angeles.

Also worth noting that less water takes less time and energy to get to a boil.
