If it’s too short or too high up there’s a possibility that trash will get snagged on the bottom of the tube, probably ripping the bag or the tube loose. Going to an inch or two above the bottom minimizes this problem

You can use AutoHotKey and bind the command 'explorer X:\' (replace drive letter as appropriate) to a shortcut. That will probably be pretty reliable.
