‘For my father ... who’s coming home.’

Ha. I watched it concurrently with studying it - my Shakespeare paper at university, we had classes where we watched snippets of different versions of some of the plays to get an idea of different adaptations - and because of the power of the adaptation, I really got into the play. Not sure it would have been for me

Oh gosh, yes, you must. Anthony Hopkins as Titus, Jessica Lange as Tamora, Alan Cummings, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Matthew Rhys, Harry Lennix ... The direction may not be for everyone, but I have seen it many times and adored it every time.

Yes.

I had no interest whatsoever in seeing this film despite the fact it’s Star Wars, because Han Solo is kind of the worst.

I was just thinking about ‘The Wish’ today because I watched ‘Yesterday’s Enterprise’ for the first time a couple of days ago.

Rest in peace, Candy Bar King.

Now playing

The BBC did a montage of Serena reading her favourite poem, ‘And Still I Rise’ by Maya Angelou.

I do not recommend anyone watch this. It’s terrible.

If you think those images have anything to do with what ‘natural born’ women look like ...

‘I think the amazing thing about VII is that Finn and Rey don’t come from anywhere, and they find a place. So to me, it’s funny that people think it’s so important because I don’t really think it is.’

Sold sold sold sold sold sold

I don’t think she did drop it on purpose. I don’t think she would do that to her team. I think her dropping the ball demonstrates that while she has all the natural talent and love of the sport to be the greatest player of all time, she doesn’t fundamentally live and breathe and need it the way that Kit does.

Nick Kyrgios is changing the face of tennis as we know it, because now the umpires are warning the players (only the men, natch - either ‘lady players’ don’t say the shocking things or the umpires get all their info from Raymond Moore and don’t think anybody’s watching) before every match that they are surrounded by

I feel like I don’t have anything to add but I felt the need to say: Thank you for that comment. I really enjoyed it.

Everybody keeps saying that ... I hope I’m not disappointed :)

I get the theory - Spock represents the cold rationality and McCoy the human passion, with Kirk mediating between them/forming the synthesis. But ... it just doesn’t work in practice (which surely has something to do with the negligible presence that is McCoy in the new movies, a shame because Karl Urban is great).

Honestly I haven’t see Voyager since I was a teenager so I couldn’t really comment. All I could say is that nothing nullified the strength of Janeway for me then :)

Yes I was very disappointed that Number One disappeared straight after ‘The Cage’ - although her legacy lives on in the way that TOS continuously insists that women who have, you know, jobs can’t possibly be ‘real’ feminine women.

I keep hearing this! I’m excited :)
