I agree. Newsweek has been stellar. Why their work hasn’t had more coverage is unsettling - it’s like other outlets were already long ago caving to avoid his wrath. And the Cuba story!! I too thought that would be it.

I can’t understand how media outlets - and there were many - gave so much coverage to “emails” and in doing so contributed to the perception of lying/deception...yet did not give similar coverage to the daily dose of multiple egregious lies/deception that came from Trump. They allowed him to create his own reality.
There’s also this journalist who fact checked throughout the campaign https://www.thestar.com/news/world/uselection/2016/11/04/donald-trump-the-unauthorized-database-of-false-things.html
Also, Bush Jr was not trying to line his own pockets at every turn. It’s mind-boggling - years ago Trump said he could be the first candidate to run and make money on it. And his campaign financial wizardry scamming was impressive. He truly has no conscience. For that reason many people have no respect for him, nor…
The top pic reminded me of those cats, at one time ever-present in pap pics: “Look at me, I’m an independent woman, girl-power! I don’t need a man like you made fun of, I have a cat! ...I have 2!”
You’re welcome. And I thank you for the laugh.
“Donald Trump, a man who is very ill-equipped to run the country”
Lol what’s sadder is that so many people who voted for him don’t realize he was just Burnett’s hired help for that show. What successful wealthy businessman would have the time or interest in doing that cheese? I think while the Trump name was still big at the time, his business was ailing. It was a desperate…
That’s what I just wrote up-thread, Affleck makes anyone look good, Damon’s no fool.
I agree, Damon was dismissive and also condescending, saying the criticism is invalid merely because it’s occurring during a time of fake news & click bait.
Every accusation he has made about someone else, has been something he himself is guilty of, or a trait he has. Calling Hillary corrupt and ‘Crooked Hillary’, while he...(long list). Even the book author who covered their divorce & Ivana’s rape allegations - Trump said the author was “without much talent”,…
Yes, what’s unfortunate about this situation is that there are loopholes this admitted serial evil-doer can take advantage of. And that despite confessing, he does not have the remorse or sense of accountability to just stay put, instead he’s looking for his escape route.
Thank you for that laugh, yes, his dependency & reliance on her lack of relevant experience is the biggest sign that the emperor has no clothes. And he knows it.
Her book was fascinating, it’s impressive she got out. And yes, thanks to my ex I had those shudders of familiarity you describe. I also have shudders from Trump, his tone of supposed wisdom mixed with ooey false sincerity is like my father. Hearing the identical tone to what I grew up with was bizarre...and…
You make a good point. It’s far worse when someone who does not want to be there stays, with their indifference, intolerance, disinterest, anger, superiority, lies, gaslighting, etc...but they turn on the charm for everyone else. That kind of duplicity messes kids up for decades.
And wasn’t another rumor Josh Hartnett?
I can’t see how merely having her as hostess avoids any conflicts...it’s just not possible. Her own business has foreign ties, if she ends up running her father’s business with her brothers that adds even more. It’s inconceivable to have her interacting in any capacity with anyone related to a foreign government.
Yes, just like abusive exes. Have you read her book? The parallels between her “church” experience and an abusive personal relationships were significant.
That’s what I noticed a few months ago. It’s like Melania could be her mother. Or older sister. Either way it’s odd and disturbing.
At one point in the campaign, she said something like “when we’re in the White House” and she was not referring to the Republican party. It’s a family business, everything they do.
