Their big mistake with the car they ended up producing was the mid-cycle styling refresh that broke up the tall egg crate grille. Once they did that, it made the car look much cheaper than it already was.

I’m not one to believe that it’s purely an engineering fix. There are plenty of other such fixes for sound that don’t involve extra vestigial pipes. My take is it’s a fun if somewhat naive nod to Ferraris and racing in general.
