That amount would barely dent a big city’s budget. However, Montana ain’t exactly awash in cash, and there are more than twice as many people in half of the major city I live in, than in all of Montana, a state twice the size.

Well, this would expain the lime green Aventador with Montana plates I saw driving past my Phoenix metro neighborhood several week ago...

Eh, actually the small block LS4 was in the Grand Prix GXP, which was platform mate with the Chevy Impala SS (5.3) and Buick Lacrosse Super. The Bonneville GXP got the 275hp 4.0 Northstar derivative (and its associated head gasket issues) that was also in the 2nd gen Aurora 4.0 and Buick Lucerne Super.

I agree, I like this version of the car, too. For me the SSE/SSEis have always been tops in the looks dept. The regular SEs are cleaner, but not as aggressive, and I like the smoke/blackout details Pontiac had down pat back then.

When I was growing up in the 80s, our next door neighbor had a pine tree green example of this Bonneville in pretty awesome shape. Still vividly recall the low blub-blub-blub coming from wrinkled-bend exhaust pipes at the back of that car, and the whoosh of the crank-driven fan as the front of the car emerged from his

Poppycock! I love me an SSEi, even if, when supercharged, they made barely more horsepower than the average modern Honda 4-cylinder these days.

Dude...Limburger level...

I remember seeing one of the red VRs around my home town in the mid-90s. I thought it was a tacky aftermarket body kit, and consequently had the next logical thought: “what kind of loser puts a body kit on a Celebrity?”

Yep. At least those were factory and make sense as tow rigs due to their length and additional weight.

Or an answer to the question “what would be an interesting take on a 4x4 that might appear on The Red Green Show?”

“batcake”

I have to agree with the others. That’s actually a pretty awesome result. Needs matching wheels, but that could be a lot worse.

Ugh, this thing is priced about 3X what it’s worth, perhaps 4X. For one thing, getting a faux-dually setup for a truck is not hard; there’s a whole sub-culture of truck guys who make duallies out of everything, entirely for show. You don’t even need a 1-ton axle to do it, though the 8-bolt wheels do complete the look.

In hindsight, I’d have to mostly agree. Those LH large cars were original in terms of looks and shape, It’s kind of amazing how quickly they disappeared from the landscape because those things were everywhere when I was in high school.

I have to disagree about the about-to-die Navigator. It’s the best looking one ever, and the most capable; though still second place to this new one. Not the best looking truck out there, but I’m surprised by how much I like it.

Freakin’ Acura figures out how to make the worst grilles. For all the hate Lexus gets for the spindle, Acura has been batting 1000 on the bad noses. For the last 8 years we’ve had the cheese grater, and now we have Klingon-viewscreen-at-warp. It looks awful on the MDX, and really not much better here.

I tend to ignore some issues in cars at this price. However, the interior in this thing is cracked, busted, dirty, torn, and probably next to none of the electronic items works. Probably a great project platform if its gutted of its engine, transmission, and interior first. But then, you’re paying $2400 for a shell.

Ya, this is that kind of Chris Brown personality where they feel empowered to be an asshole in part because they’ve gained some sort of notoriety. The other part of it is, they were somehow allowed to get away with this crap as a kid, or one parent did this to their spouse/relatives, so the kids just learn to do that

I have to take umbrage with what seems to be the new charge de jour, that amorphous thing called a “terroristic threat”. I realize this is a derailment from the main topic, but what is a “terroristic threat” and what constitutes one? Because it seems to me like an awful lot of stuff can be lumped under “terroristic”,

I loved this concept when it came out. It had some awesome details, like the buttresses in the rear seat. I’m having trouble finding a pic of them, so the front positions will have to do for now:
