Local chains cost more and quality is iffy. I’ll stick with what I know. 

The only chain alternative to Subway here is a lone Jersey Mikes a few miles down the road.

I only go to Subway for a meatball sub every once in a while. If their app offered sandwich customization options, I would probably go there more. 

I always thought their teas were meh because who wants to drink cold, unsweetened (or very light sweetened) tea anyway? Basing this purely on my own experience with that brand. YMMV.

I still remember how the Wegmans I went to smelled over 20 years later. That kind of atmosphere doesn’t leave you.

I’ve been to Hannaford locations in NH and they’re not much different layout-wise from the ones in VT. They’re pretty homogenous.

Vermonter here. I agree that the lists are bullshit. With only 3 locations in VT, HOW could Aldi be our most popular grocery store?
