What are you talking about? No one here is talking about rape. Every sexual encounter that occurs is not rape. Saying that there are surely young women who do choose to have sex with these guys is not the same as saying that a woman who is raped by one of them wanted it.

One reason why people will apply for lots of different school is because they are trying to find the best financial aid package. Or there may be several programs with slightly different aspects that are intriguing. Or the person may just feel that they may not have the grades to be a top choice for many schools, so

Why should he go to a State school? What benefit will it have for him?

You're just in an argumentative mood today, aren't you? You seem to be reading what I'm writing, but not quite absorbing the meaning of the words.

Yeah, not sure which part of my writing that she was questioned "because when they police arrived they found the children in the care" you're not understanding. I don't think it could really be any more clear though, so at a loss for how to make it more understandable.

No, the reason that the police were called is because she endangered the lives of her children. The reason that she was questioned is because when the police arrived they found the children in the car.

Wow.

Yeah, I don't see this as an issue of privilege. Unless you are applying for a job at a fast-food establishment, you don't put McDo on your work experience. Trust me, as a person who routinely hires staff, I don't want to see your time as head window person at the drive-thru if I am hiring you as a research

I was working on a Roma Health Initiative and one day a guy came in and said "man this dude totally gyped me."

Is it possible that she didn't ask them for help? Or that they live in a different state? Or that they couldn't help because it would mean that they too would have to take a day off work and lose pay?

Whoa there. You don't know anything about their father or what situation he may be in. It could be that he was not able to be around. That doesn't make him an asshole.

I agree with you that "average" is subjective.

IMHO: Hell to the no.

Well, as I mentioned, there are very high rates of alcoholism and FAS in Alaska.

Totally agree with you. He's way off the mark and for that reason will not be able to have any sort of impact on an issue that he seems to care about.

Agree 100%.

Yeah, that is just some craziness right there. I mean, get a grip!

I don't think that his proposal has a snowball's chance in hell of cutting down on FAS. He clearly does not understand the nature of alcoholism and how FAS actually works.

I stand corrected in terms of PA, which is clearly a state where people have common sense.
