If Nintendo really wanted to do be smarter, they should treat retro games like MOBA characters. There’s free ones of the week, you can buy them permanently, or you can earn “Mario Coins” by playing games (profile progression) and buy them with in-game currency.

I like the nostalgia in bite-sized chunks. But the only way I would play a long game like Chrono Trigger again would be if I could share that experience with friends somehow - like a book club.

I played the testpunch. I had a few good moments but it wasn’t enough to convince me that loose motion controls can be fun.

JRPGs just take too damn long to play.
They are mildly entertaining to start, then the story gets interesting, then it dawns on me just how long it’s going to take to see the end... and I go play something else.

Hearing this, I’m bothered I won’t get to experience it on PC even though I would buy a 2nd copy just for this. But, my friends are on Xbox. And game progress, allegedly, won’t transfer.

I wish one of their “bold” differences with D2 was the ability to have cross-platform progression.

Sometimes I do just wish this was about college-aged kids just to make me more comfortable with the dating scene. Back in the day, I really loved X-Wing Alliance and SW Pod Racer using my Microsoft flight stick. So, to relive that, a year ago I bought a Saitek um 52 Pro or something. (googles) saitek x52 pro.

For me, an adult, sure. The Switch is now my much preferred “portable” console. If I’m buying for my kid, the 3DS has a big library of quality games, it’s sturdier and cheaper.
