I don't know how reliable this is, but the thumb drive I have has a status LED which blinks when it's being written to and is solid when it's not. I find that right after a file finishes copying the light goes back to solid green and I've never had any corruption issues with just unplugging it at that time.

I'm not quite sure how you're using Spotify, I can listen to songs as many times as I want and I'm on a free account.

Yes, although it might be easier to swallow the infinite cost by buying something and then renewing the warranty for infinity. Same final cost, but a much easier initial investment.

I think a more accurate gauge would be to estimate about how long you'll keep an item and spend money accordingly.

It's especially hard for me because i've got a vertical and horizontal monitor, so my wallpaper needs to be at least 3120x1920 to fit the height of the vertical screen and the width of both screens.

pull the battery about an hour before you drop off the body?

This is what I use, along with a similar phrase to lock my phone. That way, if I ever lose my phone I can enable the lockscreen remotely by texting myself a word through any friend's phone.

I'm actually surprised we haven't retrofitted some of our stealth aircraft as drones. It seems like it would be easy enough to convert an aircraft that is already fly-by-wire to be controlled remotely.

As someone who loves their android phone, I still think the major flaw of Android is the fragmentation. I have a 1ghz 4" phone that is more than capable of running 2.3, and will be more than capable of running 4.0, yet it is still stuck on 2.2. I'll be lucky to get an update to 2.3 out of virgin mobile and there is no

Mine had a lot of problems early on, but after returning it and getting a newer one most of them are fixed. It's crazy fast and the 4" screen is a godsend after the V. I can finally play games (angry birds runs like a champ) and the faster processor makes virgin's shoddy network much more manageable now that i'm not

Is CM7 stable on the V yet? It's been about a month since I sold mine and got the Triumph, but I haven't been recommending CM7 to my friends due to the nasty calling/proximity sensor bug.

Back 5 years ago closing down the background tasks on my laptop did great things for performance, but that was because I was filling my 512mb of ram to the rim! On my current midrange gaming rig I leave iTunes, Chrome, and all of my background tasks running, and can still run battlefield 3 @ 1920x1200 with no problem.

Glad to know it's not just me! I had to go directly to the website where i get my win7 monitoring gadgets ([www.addgadget.com] ) because I couldn't find them through Microsoft!

Shouldn't any computer do this automatically? I've got a bunch of LED fans and the motherboard turns them up when it starts to get too hot, thus turning up the lights.

Basically just southwest.

Am I the only one that has no problems with my inkjet printer? I've got a cannon ip1600 and, even though i'm a student, the ink cartridges last me a little over a year! $40 for new cartridges is insane, but I can get close to 3 years of ink for the price of a decent color laser printer.

What is with all the homescreens with no icons! I like a clean screen as much as the next guy, but I also like not having to scroll the list of all my apps every time I want to do something.

I use flux as well, but I use it more to help me sleep and not to even out my monitors. It definitely reduces eye strain at night, but having to adjust between a white page that's white and a white page that's blue strains my eyes during all hours of the day!

For me the same goes for color calibration. My second monitor was notably blue compared to the first, so just making white the same color on both monitors has greatly helped my eyes!
