i usually get up and walk around my room or stretch my hands. it accomplishes the same thing but with a little bit more blood circulation and less RSI.

i still love the way apple deals with this in mobile safari, have the url bar linked to the top of the page so it's visible when you load the page but have it scroll out of sight with the rest of the page when you scroll down.
in chrome it serves as the search window and is absolutely essential to have it easily accessible for me. but as an avid netbook user i would love if they allowed it to be hidden the way it is in safari on ios; linked to the top of the page so it is visible when you open up a page but scrolls up and out of view w/ the…
you should still be able to use the "site:lifehacker.com" tag in google, it's not perfect but it should work while the web designers over at gawker get their act together.
Windows: Lack of packaged apps like in linux and osx. it's inconvenient for installations but an absolute pain when uninstalling.
they do get hot but in this setup i would recommend flipping the mac over or propping it up on something b/c the bottom acts a heat sync and that would allow more of the cool outside air to pass over the bottom.
the best place for this is in media cabinets, most of them have several holes in the back for cords and if you route all of the cables through one you already have some precut fan holes.
My version of this project would involve putting a laser pointer into the phaser and using a light sensitive piece to act as the off button. then mount the alarm clock far enough away that you need to sit up and aim to shoot the alarm clock and turn it off. now if only i had the electronics mojo to pull it off!
@pandaSmore: it can rotate and i do when i play pc games but i keep it in portrait because it is wider at 1200x1920 and it's also my primary monitor in the setup so i want it to be bigger. plus, the other one is at 1080p so it's just big enough to run hd video and my xbox at native resolution. also keep in mind that…
@supergeek13579: i should also mention that the vertical/portrait monitor is at 1920x1200, which is essential for having enough horizontal space for web browsing. and the second on is at 1920x1080 partly because i'm cheap and also because i got the vertical monitor referbed( [goo.gl] ) so it was about $200 and i…
Vertical monitor, it is absolutely crucial because i spend the majority of my time reading and writing. and everyone needs a second monitor in landscape, for videos and xboxing. plus a trackball is crucial for no other reason than moving my mouse from one corner of my desktop to the other without contracting carpel…
@TendoMentis: to further Marand's point i've got a 22" screen at 1920x1080 and i've seen 17" laptops at that resolution. so they would have an issue because the same amount of stuff fits on the screen, but the screen is more than half the size.
i think we need to clariy, they mean higher pixel density screens. so a 17" 1920x1080 screen or something simmilar. and i have had no problems using the screen on my netbook, i just zoom it in or move it closer if a website has particularrly small text.
i call BS! there is no way anyone could see anything with a glossy mac opposite a window!
i wear a watch. so i just use that as my timer :)
@carlsantos: yes, both of them interrupt the flow of electricity and stop any power leeching.
@foxbody: In the winter it's green but in the summer i need fans to cool my pc and then fans to cool me.
i turned off the screen saver on my computer and had it just turn off the monitors. since they are two large monitors it not only reduces the power consumption considerably but also lowered the temp in my room by a few degrees.
@jarmod: you are overestimating the speed of all of the other people in the class and the skill of the teacher.
i just want to let apple know that i have been on the ios bandwagon for close to 3 years, but it's sad that my 2002 palm pilot still has a better calender and task app, and they are better integrated into the os.
