@wjglenn: I totally agree, my workspace is very clean but not minimilist due to the fact that i've got speakers, an amp, and hardware for switching between my ipod computer and xbox as well as another switch for my headphones. throw in a few lamps and it's just about full. [www.flickr.com]
@jje37: Although mostly true we all know that new iphones are in the early summer, new ipads are just around the corner, and new ipods are in early September. and the prices don't usually drop all year.
i've been using the dedicated app trick for facebook for a while, but it's more relevant because i have an ipod touch.
i love to get spread out to work so my large desk with two large monitors suits me perfectly. i love having my textbook, typed notes, handouts, Google, and iTunes all just a glance away. i've also got a handy autohotkey script that disables my email notifications and sets me as away in skype/im
i just fold my shirts skinnier so that i have about 6 stacks of a few shirts instead of 3 stacks of a bunch of shirts. that way there's less to move to get to the shirt i want.
games take up the most space for me, each game is around 25-75gb and so a few games, along with my media and apps just about fills up my 1tb drive.
i've got one 24" (1920x1200) monitor in portrait an a secondary 21" (180p) in landscape and as much as i loved the one monitor in portrait i kept the other in landscape for watching videos, i don't want to mess with the stand every 45 min to watch a youtube video in real full screen.
i just got a $15 dollar pair of sony earbuds (MDRED12LP/S) and i cannot stop listening to them. they have surprisingly rich bass, and an overall full sound. and you don't have to mash them into your skull to listen.

i'm almost positive that that picture isn't of Neil Armstrong, i don't believe that they had a rover on the first mission.
i got several visa gift cards this year and they are treated like small debit cards. i love them because i'm only 17 and don't have a credit card so i can use them to buy stuff off of amazon, newegg, etc.
i like all of these workspaces but mine can't ever be that neat, i've got two monitors and all of the cables routed but i've essentially got a small home theater for my xbox. i need an amp and a switch for the xbox audio as well as some speakers, throw in a lamp and my desk is just about full. so i'm dumping absolute…
i find a little prep work goes a long way, just like going to a coffee shop i pick a few projects that i can be productive with on my netbook and makes sure i have the resources to do so. so, pick single track tasks that you can do on a small screen and preferably without the internet. or just get caught up on your…
@jbarr: usually right clicking on empty space or hunting around dialog boxes there is an option to tile windows, this isn't perfect but at least it lets you get all of the windows in a viewable grid.
i have enough hard drives from backups to salvaged laptops that this isn't a problem but in the past I've used bit torrent to do this with less abuse to dropbox. That way i can just beam the files directly to the remote computer.
i perfer mounting the hdtv above the fireplace but then putting all of the boxes in the fireplace. and if you put a dark glass door on it the ir from the remotes can get through while still keeping a clean look.
i used to think computer repair shops charging obscene prices for fairly simple repairs was the biggest scam in the world. but then i realized that plumbers, auto-technicians, etc. are doing to exact same thing, charging to do something that's fairly simple but that people are too lazy to learn how to do.
