i still love my virgin mobile broadband card to death, i only need broadband when i travel a few weeks out of the year and i pay $40 once to get a month of truly unlimited data. so i can download my podcasts and surf the web without hitting caps or risking my security at a coffee shop or hotel.

i'm currently using the "Dark as hell" theme and it's essentially late night with aero enabled for the tabs and top border. the loading circles are also a lot easier to see. [goo.gl]

#corrections you guys are leaking some html at the end of the "Tricks when shooting" paragraph. it shows the href tag in plain text

it's probably different because they only have a laptop but i have an almost identical setup only with a full desktop and two 24" monitors. i find that the mattress alone traps enough heat for it to be noticeably warmer under my bed. i can't imagine how bad it would be with plastic siding.

@alexLmx6: i've got almost an identical setup, sans the plastic siding, but the ladder is the least of your problems. unless you have 10 foot ceilings there is only about 2 feet of clearance between the mattress and the ceiling. so you hit your head on the ceiling for the first few weeks.

@freedomweasel: from another point of view, loading this page took about a second. so by using a 700ms url shortener i have almost doubled the load time.

the only reason why i sync is to backup my apps and that isn't covered. so i guess it's back to the computer.

yet another reason why we should all be using wpa-psk encryption. another added security bonus is using 802.11n, 5ghz, because there aren't as many wifi adapters that will capture packets on the 5ghz bands.

i use the built in alarm on my ipod touch because it doesn't require an app to be running. i'm not going to remember to start an app every time i go to bed.

My favorite thing about dvi is that it converts perfectly to hdmi and vga. whereas hdmi goes to dvi but not vga without artifacting and vga artifacts going to both.

i'm really surprised that you guys didn't mention the virgin mobile mifi. it's $40 a month an gets you true unlimited data. i used that in conjunction with my ipod touch and a dumb phone for occasional calls and texts.

for everyone that thinks this is unnecessary... it is. but a couple months back they released an alienware case with this feature and so people want to get it without selling a limb.

I'm not sure what size that one is but the i have the 24" version of the HP monitor on the right. it's set up in portrait next to my 22" AOC in landscape and perfect for browsing and writing.

i use a power line adapter for my xbox and although it maxes out at about 2 megabits it's actually got less latency than wifi, down from 45 ms to 40 ms :)

Whenever i use my netbook i find that just shifting it an inch to the left moves the vent off of my leg and actually allows the fan to work properly and cool my computer.

With most pc laptops it's just a few screws under the battery and the keyboard pops all of the way off, then it's about a million times easier to clean.

the only place i can see this being useful is on college campuses or at hotels and places where a large area needs wifi. but i personally think that it's a security feature that my home wifi can only be seen 30 ft outside of my house. that means that the only potential hackers are a few neighbors and someone sitting

also don't include all of the spare cables for all of your common computer peripherals; power cables, usb cables, vga cables, audio cables, network cables, basically anything you would need to connect up a new computer. and don't forget a few black cds for burning recovery tools onto.
