It’s the opposite for me! I’d be the one using terms like “Gameboy, Nintendo, Playstation” as generic terms, wheras my mother would use actual console names. For example, I’d be like, “Yeah, I got the new Nintendo” and she’d respond with “Oh, the New 3Ds XL?”
