@schall129: i would assume that its only letting air into a piston to push the hook, not using the air to directly propel it. so, itd still make some noise, but it wouldnt be a massive blast of air escaping.

@aec007: they didnt say it was silent, just much quieter than their previous models.

@UERD: bah! just needs a quick-deploying parachute.

@kratos_hates_everyone: i think it might be a good idea to have a parachute that shoots open with compressed air just in case, though.

@UERD: cant take off and land vertically, so not a good commuter aircraft. i live 4 winding, hilly miles from my workplace, and the "jetpack" would make that 15 minute drive into a 5 minute flight. would be awesome.

$90? i would buy it for $25 in 2 seconds, but $90 is a bit much.

@Ioncloud9: almost as much as i love the government wasting my money!

id let her ruin my luck any day.

@JigglyPete: how one commenter passive-aggressively passed judgement on a man without adding anything of merit to the discussion.

@tattooedjunecleaver: flying is absolutely a constitutional right- its basic economic freedom.

@PestiEsti: isnt safety from the government forcing harm upon you a civil liberty?

@TampaShooters: flight is a transportation technology provided in exchange for money. that is all. economic freedom IS addressed fully in the constitution. if it isnt our right to buy goods and services from others, then we have no rights at all.

@Grr, Argh!: how about spandex? imagine hundreds of people, of all shapes and sizes, walking around in spandex. that would be hilarious.

@allgar: i have not forgotten 9/11, and i can make an argument that anyone who thinks this method of security is an appropriate response to 9/11 has themself forgotten it.

@mikehart526: the misunderstanding exists in you thinking flying isnt a right, but a privilege. i work, and earn money, i pay that money to a corporation that operates aircraft in exchange for them letting me onto an aircraft going where i want to go. what part of this isnt the same as any other exchange of product or

i like how this whole plan is hinged on the underwear bomber, yet they know that the particular bomb material he used wouldnt have shown up on the scanners...

@commander_k: dont forget the part where they steal some of the stuff they rifle through.
