Exactly. Bring back Stef Shrader!

Ha, perfect

Wait—who is the Porsche guy then??

Welcome! I feel many of the same things you do about Jalopnik. I love the Oppolock shout out, too.

Agreed that the base C8 does not match the 570S, Huracan or R8. But, I think the base C8 is more of a Cayman competitor than a 911 competitor for many reasons.

The 718 GT4 ran a 7:28 around Nürburgring.

GTS 4.0, with a manual

And it has a manual

Only one has a manual

Right—the Cayman has a manual transmission

At 70k, there are lots of 996 GT3s, 997 GT3s, and even a couple 993 C2S

Yep. If you want to go fast, get a Tesla, but if you want driver engagement get a manual 964 C2

This is one of the best comments on this thread. I would get a Boxster 986 or Cayman 987 and mod it

Great point. The driver skill upgrade is much more important than the equipment. Miata is still the answer.

Ha—how did this thread end up here? Obviously you go short with a low skin fade

The 992 is less of a rear engined car sort of the way the AMG GT is almost a mid-engined car—but no doubt, early 911s are truly out behind the rear axle.

Perfect. Take your damn star

I was really excited about this car when it was revealed, despite being a big fan of German cars—but interacting with Corvette fans in the comments is awful.

Ha—why the sideswipe against Briggs & Stratton??

If I am going to the track, I would buy a Lotus or build a Miata.
