I pulled the Optical Drive out of my 2012 MacBook Pro the day it arrived and added an SSD. So technically never.

That was my point.

Having used a MacBook Pro-to-MacBook Pro thunderbolt connection, I can assure you that the speed boot is enough. It's nowhere near as great as SSD, but there is a difference. For large backups, even a 15% increase can result in a great deal of time shaved off. Especially compared to USB 2. USB 3, maybe not so much.

It's too bad Disney gets to reinvent/rewrite copyright law every few years. Before this case is settled they'll have lobbied enough of congress to change the legal definition of the word "copy."

It's not about making nice with Apple. It's about getting people to click on the article and bring in extra ad revenue.

The same reason every Plasma display is still compared to the Pioneer Kuro.

I don't understand why everyone doesn't just agree with me and validate my opinion as The One Truth!

Well, that's disappointing. I was hoping for a small, unobtrusive dock. I guess my options are cheap junk or ridiculously expensive.

If I could rename you, I would change your name to Captain Buzzkill.

One of my favorite songs, and one of my favorite music videos. The original incarnation of the Smashing Pumpkins remains one of my favorite bands. Their new stuff... eh. I liked Zwan and Billy's solo stuff better than Zeitgeist.

I will not pay $15 for a DRM-loaded file I can only play under specific circumstances. I would probably consider renting a movie under those conditions (albeit for less money), but as a rule I try to avoid DRM whenever possible. Rental is less of an issue, because it isn't expected to be around forever. But if I pay

I find NFC more interesting when you consider the possibility of placing tags in various locations to change settings on your phone. For example, making a tag that turns off WiFi and turns off Bluetooth, and affixing it to your dashboard (or an inconspicuous place in the car) so that you can just tap your phone and

How about finding a way to move my PS3 save to the 360 so I can get that version and keep playing from where I left off? Sony would hate it, but at least customers might be happy.

It is easy to see the interference GSM signals can cause to other systems. Placing a GSM phone near many different speaker systems produces an audible example. Sure, cockpits and planes in general should be protected against this interference, but shielding can fail.

Kind of want it, but I just can't justify the cost. Looks like it is at least well-made. I don't think you mentioned the materials, what is it made of?

Sleep apnea? Narcolepsy? Overworked and unappreciated in a bad market?

Got the season 3 DVD the other day. Currently my favorite show. Worried about the loss of Harmon, but not giving up hope.

So... Am I the only person who knows that the key to victory is judicious use of Jump & Slash?

I try to, whenever possible. My Nexus S is my podcast and audiobook player. It was my audio player for a while, but I have a huge audio collection and Google Music sucks up my data and drops audio quality (downsamples to 128k mp3 when streaming, resamples AAC to mp3).

I am more intrigued by the fact that you can get nacho delivery at 4am on a Sunday. I live just a few miles outside Chicago and most places I know of that deliver cut the service off by midnight and don't start it again until lunchtime.
