SSD adds a HUGE performance boost for read/write operations. Your Mac will boot faster, applications will launch faster, and things will feel snappier overall. Graphics/processor-intensive tasks will not get any faster.

You are aware that burned discs have a shelf life as well? Some as few as 5-10 years.

I pulled the optical drive out of my Macbook Pro and added a boot SSD. It gives me crazy speeds and keeps the massive storage for media. I also have a Plex server at home for streaming video. If I plan on being out for a while, I just copy a few seasons of a show or a few movies to the big drive and head on out.

It's probably of no use to you, but Macs support this out of the box. I have a portable USB drive with two boot partitions for diagnostics and three boot partitions for various os installs.

Nyko's Airflo line had a mouse. I guess no one does market research more than a few months back.

Lack of originality has more to do with expectations of a higher return with an existing franchise. Popular games have existing audiences that all but guarantee sales.

This is simply not true. Until the 3DS, Nintendo did not sell consoles at a loss. This practice was largely put into play by Sony and Microsoft.

I've had pretty good experience with Apple Stores in terms of fixing issues; the only time they didn't take a computer I brought in for an issue was when it was over four years old and never had AppleCare to begin with. Well, they offered to fix it, but it really wasn't worth the money.

On the Mac side of things, there was a particularly nasty war between Audion and SoundJam.

You will basically see performance boots in any reading/writing situation. VM swaps will be faster, cache loading will be faster. These sorts of things are the little 10-15 second slowdowns and pauses that can pop up periodically when you are switching apps and the like.

I found myself listening to the FFVI soundtrack on my drive to work today, and wound up fast-forwarding to this song. Serendipitous that Final Fantasy music would wind up being featured today.

One of my favorite Community cameos.

This might be the first time I wished I had a kid.

It is a compelling introduction, but they were very light on specifics. Hopefully it gives Apple some real competition. I feel bad for Vizio, this totally steals their thunder.

Hey, the last one is a kid, at least.

Yay, politics in my nice non-political nature video!

I wasn't referring to selling at a loss. I know it has been done in the industry for some time. But the last generation of consoles weren't sold at $299 in the beginning. Only the stripped-down version of the 360 was that low.

$299? Yeah, right.
