Are reviews even necessary for this one? I mean, either they had you at “Jason Statham and a giant shark” or they didn’t. This was also pretty much my decision-making process for “Liv Tyler, Bruce Willis, Billy Bob, et al. and a giant asteroid” 20 years ago (wait..... 20?..... that can’t be right, can it?)

I don’t think I can wait week to week.  I’m going to have save them all up and binge the week of the finale this time.

I think The Natural will always be the film I loved him most in, but even in stuff like An Unfinished Life, Spy Game, Legal Eagles, and Up Close & Personal he was still entertaining even though they’re considered some of his lesser films. And you’re right, he definitely did some beautiful work from behind the camera

If you get the chance, see her in Professor Marston and the Wonder Women. There were several categories that it was downright criminal that it wasn’t nominated for Oscars in last year, but her not being in the lead actress category was fucked up. She damn sure belonged there more than Streep or Ronan (not that either

Watching Macfayden have Tom’s personality turn on a dime from when he’s talking with rest of the family to then immediately fucking with Greg in some way was the best part of the season for me. And that scene between him and Snook in the bedroom tonight was brilliantly executed by both.

“Guess who just didn’t kill anyone, but maybe only lost a couple of thumbs?” and then doing the clichéd two thumbs “This guy!” joke was a perfect Roman moment.

Listened to the new Cowboy Junkies album, All That Reckoning, and loved it. I could listen to Margo Timmins forever.  Afterwards I started thinking about other singers with amazing voices and ended up going down a few rabbit holes. One of the more exciting ones turned out to be going on Amazon’s Prime Music and

But Sinatra wasn’t in King Rat. Rat pack? Yes. King Rat? No.   Agree on the boiling in oil scene though.  That shit freaked me out as a kid too.

“Wait.... what’s happening now? OH MAH GAWWWD!!! That’s the comptroller’s music!”

On Business Insider?  I’ve never even seen that before, and I’m there pretty regularly.  How many articles do you have to read to hit that?

Saw this a minute ago. Might help.

I love both. I jumped up and cheered when “Dare” came on during the training montage in the first season of GLOW just like I did when Dirk Diggler started unexpectedly singing “The Touch” in Boogie Nights.

Unlike a lot of others (as you can see here,) I didn’t hate the movie at all, but it’s just one of those stories that you can’t really condense into two hours. A limited series would work much better. It could actually work as more than one season since Niffennegger is supposedly working on a sequel novel.

Yeah, I wouldn’t have minded the Jason Clarke reveal anywhere near as much if it hadn’t been ruined ahead of time.

Me too.  Emilia and Arnold were fun together for me as was what they did with the 1984 timeline.

Crêpes together... strong.

First thing I thought of when I saw this story last week.

Not ALL of them...

You know, I thought there was a good chance that Bill Hader and John Mulaney bringing him up in a Stefon sketch would probably be the last time I thought of Dan Cortese, and yet here we are....
