I bought the Pro edition specifically for the Group Policy Editor, and to edit a few of the mentioned policies Microsoft is disabling. I have to turn off updates all together now to avoid losing that.

This is something more people should try, especially with sour drinks. You know what makes a great margarita even better? Pour a bit of lager into it (Modelo, Landshark, etc.)

All I had to do was re-enable “Optimizely” to get Gawker comments to load for me. I left everything else off. I use Ghostery and Adblock (not Adblock Plus) if that makes a difference.
