I don’t think language is ever going to totally catch up to the complexities of payment and legality but IMO those are two different things. Publishing something meant to be paid for is definitely not right, but you’re not lifting it from the extremely private to the public domain - you’re just shifting it from paid

I was honestly surprised that “porn” remained in the title because I thought that would be the issue.

What types of things do you think he’s invented?

It’s a perfect example of a management that doesn’t know how to manage. I can to any number of websites and just read sports from writers to try to make It seem as Important as politics, but very few that clearly demonstrate how politics (and society) Intersect In to sports... while also telling the final score. Their

Hey! I recognize you. And as an Internet Neighbor who’s been following your news for a while, you are not screwing up your daughter. You have done your level best to be a supportive, positive presence, and you are also a normal human person who will inevitably experience challenges with showing up for the kid you love

Except this book is about all the people who were paid to line up and protect HW & Matt Lauer & Donald Trump & Bill Clinton - and while it covers the tremendous abuse these women faced, it is about the lengths that people (men & WOMEN!) went to to protect the abusers....I still don’t understand the push back.

If you had gone into this book expecting to read a deeper cut of Ronan’s previous reporting on Weinstein’s abuse, I can see where you might get disappointed. But if you come to the book to read about the power structures at play that keep stories about powerful men under wraps, it’s a fascinating read. Ronan’s writing

Yeah, it seems weird to treat his relationship to Dylan as nearly an aside.

It was about the process of getting the story published and the institutional bullshit that protected people like Lauer and Weinstein. I don’t think it minimizes anything about the victims, it’s just about a different-ish topic? It’s like being mad at All the President’s Men for focusing on Woodward and Bernstein

This article is ridiculous. Farrow rails against powerful evil men hiding truth to service other powerful evil men and it doesn’t matter? If powerful evil men were not allowed to suppress news and the women who make claims against them, would life not in fact be better for women and other victims?

I also don’t think these are hardball questions that should be classified as a grilling. They are simple questions that Sandberg should indeed have been asked before and that she should be prepared to respond to.

I am an Alison Roman fangirl, and have both her cookbooks. Most of her recipes are veggie-oriented, lots of salads/sides that could function as mains. I’m not vegetarian but you could easily make most of her recipes veggie by leaving out a protein or swapping in a protein substitute.

One of those “unintended consequences” that Sandberg referred to? A survey by the Lean In Foundation and Survey Monkey, according to Sandberg, found that “60 percent of male managers in the United States are not willing right now, are nervous, about having a one-on-one interaction with a woman.” Per Variety,

Woo! My favorites so far have been her spiced lentils with veggies and her lamb + chickpea recipe without the lamb.

Yeah they are great! The fact that they are filmed in her fairly cramped apartment kitchen, which is not like the typical expansive cooking video kitchens with endless counter space we usually see, is super clutch and probably my favorite part, aside from the fact that she is also pretty charming and funny.

I know I’m forever in the gray here, but . . .
There are many, many layers to what is going on here. The translation was absolutely a problem, and while it probably wasn’t intentional, in South Korean context it reads really, really badly.
Quick(ish) history:
Japan formally annexed Korea in 1910, after a couple decades

I recently bought her previous book and have found that I could cook everything so far meat-free and still found it delicious. She really likes recipes with heaps of veggies, legumes, and pastas that are super savoryyyyyy. I relate to the author so much in my general disdain for the bandwagon, but this one is legit.

When will yours be released? I’m in.

I just went down a rabbit hole after checking out her Instagram. She addressed this question in a video where she answered questions from people and said something like 80% of her book is either vegetarian or super adaptable to be vegetarian.

Her videos on NYT Cooking’s YouTube page are pretty lit as well. It’s particularly useful to see how she artfully navigates her small kitchen and makes it work for her. I highly recommend. Also, regardless of her social media celebrity, she writes damn good recipes that are relatively easy, with just enough oomph to
