They couldn't have named the character Michaela if it's female? Maybe this is progressive in some gender-related way to name a female character Michael, but it's still such a boring name, I've always resented parents who name their kid Michael for it's extreme commonness and lack of creativity and CollegeHumor agrees

that what's cannon-appropriate?

I actually liked Star Trek V.

I get that, we live in increasingly frustrating and partisan times. If you're open to a conversation, you might see we have stuff in comment or you might recognize I have devoted a lot of effort both in published articles and talking to people on Disqus and in person to try to reduce the level of us vs them and hate

Any impatience you have that I've taken five hours (not a long time in internet dialogue) to read and reply is on you. Patience. I've been living my life

Yep, I was alive but less then 10 years old and not listening to music except the kind my parents played. My dad is an old man who never advanced his musical tastes past 1959 and mostly listens to classical music. My mom listened to a radio station called "the Sounds of Sinatra." So I had a very very very poor musical

No thanks, Watching a show that's gone off the air and trying to catch up to it is exhausting. I started backwatching Orphan Black from S1 all the way through to S5 and it's far more than I bargained for in terms of exhaustion even if I think it's one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Bravo to you for sticking up for womankind (I guess?).
Man or woman, I think it's a point of view that bears little resemblance for reality as I've shown ample supporting evidence for. Of course, liberals do love to shout "racism!" "Sexism" "Homophobia!" so I don't want to get in the way of that. I also wonder what

Women show runners are by no means a glass ceilling, Nashville is run by Dee Johnson, you have Tina Fey, Janet Janero (Rizzolli and Isles), Robert and Michelle King (The good wife), Emily Spivey (Up All Night), Emily Kapnek (Suburgatory, Selfie), Nanatchka Kahn (Don't Trust the B—-, Fresh off the Boat), Benched

the principal from "Those Who Can't" that's the only thing I know him from, and he's too good in that roll for me to want to know anything else about him.

so the comics panel got nominated?

OK, don't base it off this one review. You might like it.

This is a good show, though. Is no one going to actually try it out? That makes me kind of sad. Most of his arguments are based on Breaking Bad and Justified comparisons which is a pretty weak way of attacking a show. "It's not as good as Breaking Bad or Justified" classifies a lot of good TV. Also "Breaking Bad"

the number of female show runners on TV is very healthy and Netflix has hired a lot too, you don't always have to play the sexist card

Not a fan of this review anyway. I have no desire to judge a TV show by how it measures up to Breaking Bad or Justified (which I haven't seen). I feel like "Breaking Bad" should be put in the rear view mirror at this point for pop culture critics rather than continued to be put on a pedestal.

Are most of the comments here made based on people who haven't seen the show? I mean that's fine, but it would be nice to talk with people who have seen the show. The Lake of the Ozarks is presented as a place with advantages for a guy looking to launder money (lots of rich tourists from the Midwest, lots of spending

I agree with you.

I didn't watch this one, but I watched last week's episode on voter fraud, and Bee seems to link "voter disenfranchisement" issues to 100% conclusive proof of racism. I'd prefer to see arguments that just talk about why Kobach is a very very stupid person and how he is corrupt, rather than overplay the racist card

OK, let me shift topics on something: Is that an act of evil or a malicious act? If we, as democrats, believe that simply voting on a republican ticket is an act worthy of attack than we no longer believe in civil discourse between parties. I understand supporting an abusive of power, bullying, lying chief executive.

the statistics for 90-year-olds outliving at least one of their children is pretty high, it comes with the risk
