Jezebel editors, you guys are posting too many of these tissue-thin reactionary posts. Stupid little clickbaity outrage blurbs that might get read, but more than a second’s worth of thought prove the piece to be meaningless drivel.

This IS the transparency. Much like my boss isn’t going to tell me the ceiling of what I can ask for during contract negotiations, the studios aren’t going to tell the actresses.

He’s not helping them negotiate, though - he’s just sharing information.

I do like that his statement isn’t “I’m going to lead the way for women to get equal pay!”

Assuming that someone named “Mindy Park” is Korean is just as bad as whatever whitewashing this movie is being accused of.

How did you know Mindy was Korean? I spent the entire book thinking she was Mindy Kaling in my head. I can’t remember something noting she’s Korean.

He was. Unfortunately that means that there weren’t any other Indian actors that Hollywood accountants would back as leads in this sort of movie, which is troubling in itself.

Wrong Asian, I think - Ejiofor is playing Venkat, right? From my years in the code basement, that’s a pretty common Indian name.

Both times I read the book, I was envisioning Mindy as Mindy Kaling. I had no idea that Mindy was supposed to be Korean - Mindy was supposed to be Korean? Is it because her last name is Park or was there a different indicator I blew by?

What could Jesus possibly be saying to that doctor?

Wait, what? When did Jezebel post that?!

Okay, I think you need to take a step back and realize this is a twelve year old girl, not a White Woman bent on getting away with race-based mischief.

And you cheer when he finally picks up the futon to smother the flames... Then scream as he proceeds to use that futon to fan the small trash fire into a total conflagration.
