If you are going to go with a stand alone ECU, single turbo and build the bottom end of the engine there is no reason to get a GTE. The GTE has piston squirters, stronger rods and lower compression pistons. The piston squirters literally do do nothing but lower oil pressure on pistons not designed to use them...…

the only problem with a 996 compared to a 997.1 is it only has 1 maf... so when i put my gt30r turbos on it... the maf will be out of range :-(

That and the 997 has a better awd system and the base engine has S turbos.
