She's a minor character, but at least she's a character. She's also had quite a few lines of dialogue so she's not invisible. She's not a receptionist, she's an executive assistant to the Veep. Pretty big difference. And the show is actually funny, that's the other difference. And New York isn't a very Caucasian city despite what TV may lead you to believe.
