The Cat’s Meow is one of my favorite PB films. I saw The Last Picture Show and Paper Moon for the first time during quarantine. I don’t know how I missed those two in my nearly 50 years on earth.

It probably goes without saying but The Last Picture Show is one of the finest films ever made.

I highly recommend his commentary on Citizen Kane. Though it suffers a bit placed right next to the truly fascinating and illuminating one by Roger Ebert, his passion for film history really shines through.

TCM did a six-part podcast called “The Plot Thickens” recently where the entire first season focused exclusively on him. He lived a fascinating, shitty, and weird life.
